In my work serving clients to create visionary end results I have noticed that there are two primary approaches.Â
Glass half empty or glass half full.
Those who see life as a glass half empty are wedded to the idea that life is painful, hard work is necessary and pain must be channelled to get the results that they want.
And this my friends is the predominant mode of awareness in the business world.Â
Accompanied by the idea that not only do you have to work hard but that you and/or your business is less than optimum and needs to be fixed or enhanced in some way e.g. you need a website, a social media strategy, a lead generation system, a sales funnel, more money, more employees, more time etc.Â
Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against creating a business, a thriving, flourishing, global business but believing that hard work and pain is required to move you from where you are to where you want to be puts you in the firmly in the glass half empty category.
It is a radical idea that life is magical, that the joy of the end result is available in any moment and that work is a byproduct of bliss, living from your true nature and enacting your creative purpose.Â
This work may be intense, it may require time and focus but never do I or any of my clients consider this 'hard work' or that it is what is necessary to 'get' the end result.
It is an absolute joy and delight to work with clients to transform their perspective from glass half empty to glass half full.
There is a lightbulb realisation that how they see things and how they experience life is about awareness, consciousness and choice.Â
Thats when we get down to real business, the business of creating visionary end results, ones that really matter.Â
Not everyone is ready to take this on board but my experience is there is sincere curiosity, willingness and desire in the business space.
Fortunately there are more resources, courses, coaches available than every before for anyone who wants to get their head around the idea that work can be joyfully productive.
In the meantime I get to get to work with the revolutionaries: those who know that both ways of seeing life, business and ourselves co-exist and then choose to see and act in favour of inherent joy rather than inherent pain.
Which do you choose?
Feel free to reach out if you would like pointers to help you make the transition from wanting and willing to choosing and being.
